From time to time I love experimenting with materials, textures and what not, just for fun. And some of these experiments end up looking for a forever home.
Just like Audrey here. She was created on a piece of thin fabric paper. I painted her using watercolors and acrylics over pieces vintage papers I found on one of the Mexican thrifty stores I love to visit.
I used the typed letters of one of those papers to bring her face to life, while I used machine free stitching with black thread over her to create her amazing face and hair with a single thread.
If you look in the back, you can see how the thread creates another piece of original art, almost like a negative of the original piece.
You can frame her any way you want and I promise you she will look beautiful on your favorite wall.
