In the forest of forgotten dreams
I got inspired to create this painting on a dream I had about being in a forest, where everything else was surrounded by a fog and it seemed that only the forest existed, a very weird and surreal situation that I wanted to paint with me in a forest in watercolor.
Watercolor is my latest obsession, and I have been playing around with my paint and brushes to create a series of lovely girls to experiment with colors, textures and different watercolour techniques.
Each painting measures 6x8 inches (15x20 cm) and is matted on an 8x10 inches (20x25 cm) with a 5x7 inch (12x17 cm) opening. You can frame it on a standard frame of your choice, our you could just prop the mat on a wall and they look great like that.
Just putting the paint on paper and watch it flow makes me very happy, I fell like a kid and you can feel that joy on the series with free flowing lines and a free and careless attitude towards color and composition.
But having fun and being playful about them did not stop me from giving them my signature expressive eyes and faces. Each of the girls has a very unique personality that makes each one of them stand out in their own personal way.
