I wrote on my blog the story behind this painting. When I was starting to work with a series of butterfly paintings, I found a dying butterfly on one of my walks. I took it home and I took it as a blessing from mother nature.
I wanted to preserve the feeling of finding the butterfly, uncertain of her destiny but clinging to life, because nothing is more precious than being alive, even if you don't know what the future has in store for you.
The painting is an original by Danita Art, measures 8" x10" on a stretched canvas, it's ready to hang or frame if you wish.
I used an alchemy of mixed media materials like acrylic and oil paints, watercolor pencils, soft and oil pastels and graphite pencils to create this surrealist and melancholic girl.
